The Ministry of Health has embarked on several initiatives to introduce systems that would assist in improving publics' confidence in the public health care system. In an effort to improve customer satisfaction a patient feedback system was developed through the current Complaints Mechanism. To facilitate this complaint mechanism and to assure patients satisfaction with health care they receive, all health care providers are taught how to understand and respect patients' beliefs and values and to provide considerate and respectful care that protects patients' dignity. Health care providers are urged to ensure that patients accessing care are informed of, understands, and acts when they believe their rights have been violated; as well as, ensuring that patients understands that they too have a responsibility for their health care.
